Zachary Chase Kwasneski

September 13, 1997 — March 4, 2020

UPDATE as of March 17, 2020 - The Memorial Service for Zach will NOT be held this Saturday, March 21, 2020 as originally planned.

Please check back periodically for future updates and to view his video.

Zachary Chase Kwasneski was a devoted student and even more devoted son, grandson, nephew, and cousin.  Zachary was born September 13, 1997, and passed away on March 4, 2020, at the age of 22.

Zach wanted to experience all the amazing opportunities life had to offer. He often went outside his comfort zone to do things such as travel, cliff dive, ride roller coasters and make his way to the center of every mosh pit.

He was a five-year Masters student with a brilliant mind. As a senior at UT Dallas, he majored in accounting. He exceled in this field and appreciated being able to find a concrete solution to almost any problem.

As much as Zachary lived life to the fullest, he also appreciated the simple things that it had to offer. Zach’s idea of a good night was cuddling up with his fiancé and one of their pets and watching a Mavericks game.  He loved to sit and talk with his grandparents, to walk the beach of Galveston with family, and loved his parents with everything he had.  His brother Nicholas was his heart and his true best friend.  And he was the greatest homework support, big bro and friend to Brody.  Zach had the best, sweetest, and longest hugs … and he gave them freely to his cousins on the beach or by the pool, to his aunts and uncles over conversations at family gatherings, or to his parents ... who loved him beyond words.

Zachary had the rare skill of always being able to make someone laugh, lighting up any room he entered with a sweet and unassuming smile. To know Zach was to love him. He had the gift of always being able to surprise someone, whether that was with his interests, success, whit, or generosity.

After his loss, one thing is certain … he will be deeply missed each day by all who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by grandparents Richard and Joyce Kwasneski, of Plano; father, Ryan Kwasneski and stepmother Cassandra Sy, of Mesquite; mother, Casey Lawrence and stepfather Brandon Lawrence, of Forney; brother, Nick Kwasneski, of Plano; brother, Brody Lawrence, of Forney;  grandmother, Lynda Lawrence, of Forney and fiancé, Maggie Alsup, of Plano.  Zachary also had an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly and who will miss his presence daily. His Pop Pop, Nanny, and other family members met him up in Heaven and we know that was a great reunion!

As a family and as Christians we know and believe in God’s word and we were blessed to be part of God’s plan for Zachary.  While we deeply grieve his loss in our daily lives, we are so honored to be part of his legacy through organ donation.  We know Zachary lives in Christ Jesus, and we also know he lives through those whose lives he has extended through organ donation.

Zachary was a unique soul. The most beautiful baby. The cousin with crazy 70’s hair.  The boy with the sweet smile. We love him, we miss him, and we will never forget him. We knew he was destined for greatness and his impact on the world would be incredible. God’s plan was greater than ours and we cannot wait to see the impact his gift of organ donation has made.

The Celebration of Life will NOT be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Allen Family Funeral Options.
