William "Bill" Weaver

August 28, 1955 — February 4, 2025

William Robert “Bill” Weaver was born August 28,1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, and died February 4,2025, in Dallas, Texas after an intense year-long battle with cancer.

Bill spent his childhood growing up in different cities, since his dad managed several minor league baseball teams. He lived in Florida at an early age then the family moved to Puerto Rico when he was in kindergarten then on to West Virginia. For the first few years of elementary school Bill lived in Wichita, Kansas and then completed elementary school and attended junior high and part of high school in Oklahoma City. He finished high school back in Wichita, Kansas, and then went to college at Wichita State University, majoring in radio broadcasting and television production.

Bill was one of the on-air personalities at KMUW, the college radio station, and he managed the student run radio station at the university. He was also the full-time camera man for the NBC affiliate in Wichita (KSN Channel 4). After that, he moved to McCook, Nebraska for his first broadcasting job.

Bill learned his outstanding sales skills as a young boy, selling concessions at baseball games.

In 1977, he moved to Oklahoma to begin work for Southwestern Bell as a business office representative. Later he joined AT&T as a sales account executive, handling major businesses in the area. He met his wife, Marcia, who also worked for AT&T, while on a strike assignment in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Dallas to continue their careers with AT&T, and they were married on August 15, 1987.

Bill spent 25+ years in highly complex business analyst positions, project management and system engineer positions across multiple business units of AT&T. He helped build the first sales automation platform for the AT&T Business Salesforce. He brought new services up for international countries, as the business process engineer for AT&T wireline based international billing projects. He supported over 20 billing systems across various projects for product management and product marketing. Ultimately, he was promoted to District Manager with AT&T Laboratories – Business Services in New Jersey. After relocating back to Texas, Bill retired from AT&T and transitioned to a role as a consultant to AT&T in sales systems development. He worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for a total of 40 years.

Bill was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he decorated his car with pride both in and out of season. He enjoyed building websites for non-profit organizations. He loved dogs, especially Conan, a 200-pound Saint Bernard, who was mischievous, large and in-charge in the Weaver household in New Jersey. He enjoyed celebrating Christmas and always strived to have the most inflatables of any house in the neighborhood.

He loved his family and looked forward to celebrating birthdays and a weekly family dinner together after the children were grown. He enjoyed traveling to Grand Cayman when he could, snorkeling and spending time on the beach. Bill loved the Lord. He was always looking out for the needs of others. He loved others to the point of seeking out those who were less fortunate. He touched the lives of many individuals, more than we’ll probably ever know.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Weaver, daughter Amy Elizabeth Weaver of Plano, Texas; two sons, Adam Edward Weaver (Jenny) of McKinney, Texas; and Dylan Alexander Weaver of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters, Paige Michelle Weaver of Wichita Falls, Texas and Natalie Anne Weaver of McKinney, Texas; his sister Lou Anne Ward of Wichita, Kansas and his aunt Nancy Rucker of Mansfield, Connecticut.
