Judy Cheryl Glover

April 21, 1944 — October 24, 2019

Judy Cheryl Glover of Plano, Texas, was called home on October 24, 2019, after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. She was 75 years old. A memorial service to celebrate her incredible life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Stonebrook Church of Christ, 7701 Stonebrook Parkway, Frisco, Texas.

Judy was born on April 21, 1944, to James and Oneta Duvall in Greenville, Texas. She was the youngest of five children. Judy graduated from Greenville High School in 1962 where she was involved in many activities including the manager of the Pep Club. It was in Greenville that as a young child she would meet and later marry her husband of 56 years, James Franklin Glover, on October 26, 1963. She was welcomed and loved as a daughter by Frank’s parents, James and Nina Glover.

In 1966, she gave birth to her and Frank’s first child, their daughter Ginger. In 1974, they welcomed their son Casey. She lived every day of her life loving and devoting herself to her family in every way possible. She also worked over the years, eventually retiring from the Mary Kay Global Headquarters in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the Mary Kay choir and fondly recalled singing for Mary Kay, herself, at her home during holiday concerts. Judy was a member of Stonebrook Church of Christ in Frisco, Texas, and before that, a member at Sherman Drive Church of Christ in Denton, Texas. Her smile was memorable and infectious, and all who met her remember it fondly.

Judy was a very talented seamstress and quilter, sewing many clothes and costumes over the years for family and friends. She loved to shop and read, and she looked forward to her lunches and dinners with her closest friends as well as her ladies from Bible class. Judy was adventurous. She parachuted out of an airplane, hiked across the Grand Canyon several times, hiked the highest mountain peaks in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado, and bicycled through the state of Iowa. She was fearless and never said no to something new, especially when she went along with Frank on his adventures. They enjoyed many trips and made a lifetime of memories along the way.

Judy was devoted to those she loved most and leaves behind her loving husband Frank Glover, of Plano, Texas; her daughter Ginger Rutledge and her husband Kevin of Amarillo, Texas; her son Casey Glover and his wife Irene of Plano, Texas; and her four incredible grandchildren, Gavin Rutledge, Kegan Rutledge, Katherine Glover, and Rachel Glover. She put these nine individuals before herself in all things. They loved her beyond measure.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank’s parents, her sisters Nelda Woodham and Frankie Burns, and her brother James Duvall. She is survived by her brother John Duvall and his wife Carol of Arlington, Texas; sister-in-law Carole Ann Duvall of Arlington, Texas; sister-in-law Donna Stigall and her husband Calvin of Wylie, Texas; sister-in-law Sherry Grice and her husband Richard of Mesquite, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved deeply. Judy also leaves behind countless friends she made over many years who she treasured greatly.

Judy’s family would like to express their love and gratitude to those that cared for her throughout her courageous battle. They would especially like to thank Dr. Abel Moron, the nurses, and the staff at North Texas Gynecologic Oncology; Dr. Arlene Garcia-Soto; and the very special RNs and staff with Hospice Plus who provided comfort during her final weeks at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance ( www.ocrahope.org ) or the Be the Difference Foundation ( www.bethedifferencefoundation.org ).
