John Walker

November 18, 1967 — April 10, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce that John Randall Walker (56) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, with family by his side. John fought a difficult and short battle with cancer.

John was born on November 18, 1967, in El Paso, Texas, where he spent his childhood. Upon completing high school, he followed his grandfathers’, father, and brothers’ footsteps in serving our country by joining the military and choosing to serve in the United States Air Force. John served in the Air Force as a Law Enforcement and Canine Specialist from February 1986 to January 1990, last stationed at the Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana. After his years of military service, John obtained his bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

John worked in the customer service and marketing industries in various roles throughout his life, most recently with Deanan Popcorn. His post-military career is best summarized as a lifelong commitment to creating fun, positive experiences for others ~ a quality that his friends and families knew well.

John was a generous and loving man who cared deeply for his family and friends. He was happily married to the love of his life, LaDawn, for nearly 16 years. He was a devoted father, stepfather, and proud grandfather. He was the jokester of the family and always kept those around him laughing. John had many hobbies and interests, including collecting Marvel comics and movie memorabilia, driving around in his beloved Jeep, and watching old movies and TV shows.

More than any hobby, John loved dogs, finding joy and comfort in them throughout his life. He especially loved Daisy and Abby and devoted himself to giving all of his pets the best care and attention possible. All of these attributes will be greatly missed and remembered fondly.

John is survived by his mother Alice Walker; son Jack Walker (16); stepdaughters Allie Rosier (33) and Angela Mercer (31) and their respective spouses, son-in-law Taylor Rosier (35) and daughter-in-law Paige Mercer (32); grandchildren, Ella Rosier (3) and Mason Rosier (22 months); sister Dianne Walker; brothers Eric Walker and his wife Debra, Chris Walker and his wife Alexa, and Michael Walker and his wife Lilly; and numerous other loving family members and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Lee Walker, and his beautiful wife, Katherine LaDawn Walker.

The family will receive friends for a visitation, Monday, April 15, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options.

A funeral will be held to celebrate John’s life Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options, officiated by Pastor John Mc Kinzie.

He will be laid to rest with his wife LaDawn at the Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery, with military honors Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
