Glenn Bolton was born March 23, 1969 in Houston, Texas to parents Gerald Glenn and Gloria (Durdin) Bolton.
Glenn was a big kid at heart; he loved April Fools and it did not matter if you were the CEO or the janitor ~ he would get everyone equally! But underneath that big kid beat the heart of a warrior whose purpose in life was to make sure that the hurt, the abused, the bullied, and the lost were rescued. Glenn was the knight riding in on a white horse; but, as Kelli has always said, “In our 30 plus years of knowing each other: NO ONE should ever, EVER mistake his kindness for weakness because he is truly one of the absolute strongest men I have ever known.”
He did not shy away from conflict that needed to happen. He met it head on and wanted it resolved.
Glenn had his personal struggles from his childhood, but he found the Lord. The Lord walked, carried, and dragged Glenn at times; Glenn truly gave his life, time, love, compassion, and energy to what the Lord called him to do in helping others.
Glenn talked many, many people “off the ledge” of suicide; people who literally were sitting with loaded guns ready to leave this world behind. But the love of the Lord flowing through Glenn brought them not only back to a place of living but, more importantly, to a relationship with the Lord.
Glenn was a special kind of man. He did not care if he drove the most souped-up muscle car or wore the coolest clothes, he cared if he made a difference in the lives he impacted.
Kelli always told him he was a true “hard butt”: not in the way the world would define, but because he showed his emotions. He cared more about others and their feelings, and he was genuinely nice, kind, and teachable. He considered his own issues and changed if he needed to, no matter how difficult it might be for him.
Glenn loved. Period. Glenn laid himself down over and over and over again to reach others. Glenn loved others as Christ loved him.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife Kelli Bolton; daughter Jessica Shuptrine; mother Gloria Huddleston; brother Gene Spiller and his wife D’Anne; brothers Joe Spiller, Don Spiller, and James Ketcher; brother-in-law Rick Spruill and his wife Kelly; sister-in-law Kimberley Bogard and her husband Derek; aunt Barbara Spruill; aunt Shirley Morgan and her husband Ken; nephews and nieces “Little” Jerry Bolton, Micheal Morgan and his wife Alexandria, Ella Spruill, Andrew Staats and his wife Amanda, Timothy Staats, and Samuel Staats; great nephews Goku, Link and Archer Bolton, and Mars Morgan; cousins Randy Morgan and Dr. Kami Owen.
