On Friday, December 11 th , Frank Edwards, a former pilot on a Navy Aircraft Carrier, gave up his fight with Alzheimer’s disease and was welcomed into heaven, as his faith believed.
A brilliant man, Frank lived a determined life. In doing so, he was quarterback at both his Upper Arlington, Ohio, high school and Ohio State University; attended USC School of Law; served in the Navy; held a degree in Industrial Engineering; played roles as an extra in Academy Award winning movies and held patents for multiple inventions. One invention in particular was a modernization of the medical nebulizer. He believed that “Education is a good place to be lost.” What a full life!
The greatest honors in his life were being a loving husband to Becky for over 55 years and raising their children to be caring citizens who were also skillful thinkers. Being such a strong family man, Frank decided to work from home while all the kids were growing up so that he could be home with the family. He was an inventor, and as he liked to say, he “invented ways to make money.” This enabled him to be constantly creative, sell and interact with people, while allowing for month long family ski trips and putting all four kids through college. He certainly left his mark on those who loved him and considered him to be their hero as well as their friend, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, husband, Dad, or PawPaw.
He is survived by his wife Becky; their four children Jackie Frederiksen (Paul), Sabrina Fitzpatrick, Cathie Vaughan (Vance) and Frank Edwards III (Kelley); their ten grandchildren Patrick Fitzpatrick, Madison Fitzpatrick, Erik Frederiksen, Hayden Frederiksen, Preston Frederiksen, Vance Vaughan Jr., Brooke Vaughan, Blake Vaughan, Gwen Edwards and Frank Edwards IV as well as numerous extended family members.
A private memorial service will be held for family only. If you would like to be able to join through a webcast, please connect Tuesday, December 29th at 11:00 A.M. to :
