Esperanza “Hope” Garza Fabrizio was born on December 14, 1948 to the union of Manuel Garza and Consuelo Ornelas Garza in San Antonio, Texas. She went home suddenly on July 11, 2019 to the Lord where her Father Manuel, and sister Cynthia welcomed her with open arms.
Hope Fabrizio graduated from McCollum High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1967. In 1968, Hope married her high school sweetheart, Ben Ramirez. They remained married for twenty-five years. Their union was blessed with two children, Lisa Ann Ramirez Edwards and Benjamin Manuel Ramirez. They lived in Garland and Rowlett, Texas for eighteen years. Hope raised her daughter and son with tremendous unconditional love, wisdom, strength and devotion. Hope continued that love and devotion with her children into their adulthood and with her granddaughters, Lauren Paige Edwards and Sophia Abigail Edwards and son-in-law James Donavon Edwards. She was the best Mom and Grandmother “Nonni” in the world!
Hope’s career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas spanned twenty-seven years. She started at entry level and moved quickly to many departments, ending her career in National Accounts. After retiring, she continued to do contract work for BCBS giving her the opportunity to travel nationwide, as well as talking and visiting with people which is something she absolutely loved to do.
In 1995, she married Daniel Fabrizio. Together they were true partners in life and loved to see and travel the world just for fun and to visit family members.
Hope’s hobbies were gardening, cooking, shopping, having lunch with friends, watching movies on the Hallmark channel and cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters, Lauren and Sophia, and attending their sporting events and activities.
Hope was a friend, champion, cheerleader, mentor, surrogate Mom, and Godmother to so many who loved and adored her. She was an active member in her church St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano where she was a kindergarten teacher for many years and later at St. Francis in Frisco. She loved teaching the youngest children the best and seeing them grow and continue in their faith.
Hope’s father, Manuel Garza and sister Cynthia Garza Martin preceded her in death. She is survived by a loving family, her husband, Daniel Fabrizio; her mother, Consuelo Ornelas Garza; daughter, Lisa Ann Edwards; Son-in-Law, James Donavon Edwards; son, Benjamin Manuel Ramirez; granddaughters, Lauren Paige Edwards and Sophia Abigail Edwards; step daughter, Tiffany Fabrizio King; her husband Brandon King and their children; Teagen Rae King, Jaedyn Alexis King and Rylee Alisabeth King; nephews Shannon Kleinschmidt and Robert Martin and a host of relatives and friends.
