Bradley Steven Taylor

June 15, 1955 — January 28, 2022

Graveside Services for Bradley Steven Taylor, age 66, are scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Tira Cemetery in Tira, Texas.

He was born on June 15, 1955 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Billy George and Myron Taylor and grew up in the Lochwood area of east Dallas with his two younger brothers, Chris and Jim.  He attended Martha Turner Reilly Elementary School, Robert T. Hill Junior High and Bryan Adams High School. He began driving at 16 years old and his first car was a 1967 Mercury Cougar. He developed a passion for cars and driving that stayed with him throughout his life. Brad had an excellent memory regarding car models anywhere from the 1950’s to recent models. He could tell you the year and model of most any car that was on the road. Every year when he was a kid, he and his family would attend the State Fair of Texas. Brad was always sure to grab plenty of car books when they visited the Automobile Building.

Brad attended Eastfield College and then East Texas State University (TAMU - Commerce) after graduating from high school. He also worked evenings and weekends throughout high school, mostly in retail stores. He had a very strong work ethic that never wavered throughout his life. If extra work, weekends or holiday work was ever required, Brad usually was one of the first to volunteer to help out.

While still in his 20’s, Brad accepted a position with Neiman Marcus. Little did he know that he would go on to a 37 year career with Neiman Marcus. During all of that time, Brad believed in and demonstrated the philosophy upon which the founders based the company. He had read two of Stanley Marcus’s books, “Quest for the Best” and “Minding the Store” and he tried to live up to Mr. Marcus’s sayings, such as, “There is never a good sale for Neiman Marcus unless it's a good buy for the customer.”

Brad was a life-long Dallasite and had a keen sense of Dallas history. Having been born in Dallas during the 1950’s, he was eyewitness to many historic moments and landmarks during his lifetime.  He also loved movies. During the summer, his parents used to take the kids to the drive-in movie theaters that existed in Dallas during the 1950’s and 1960’s. This may be where he developed his love of movies.

He also enjoyed music from the big band era as well as the 1950’s through 1970’s. Brad enjoyed making trips to Branson, Missouri to watch musical shows from that time period.

He is survived by his two brothers, Chris (Xiomara) and James (Joni) Taylor and nephew Wyatt Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at Allen Family Funeral Options.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations, in Brad’s name, be made to:
