She was known to many as Mother, Mom, Momma, Mayo, Gramsey, Scottie and friend. Her fundamental belief in life was to love one another, to never argue, to not fuss and to always, no matter what, get along with one another and to always forgive and not carry a grudge. She was a peacemaker and she took great pain to make sure that everyone was always happy. She gave freely and never expected anything in return. Her family gave her great happiness and comfort at all times. Her greatest satisfaction came from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A card and candy or sweets were her favorite things to receive from family and friends.
She adored the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. She enjoyed each of the seasons and the beauty that comes with them. She was drawn to the ocean and loved its majesty and tranquility. Her favorite vacation spot was Miami Beach. She loved to watch the deer, birds and other animals as they moved freely. She loved to sit outside or watch out a window at nature and life's happenings and to take car rides. She was a dog lover and always had dogs as part of her life. She would affectionately call her children's three dogs her kids and she fussed over them constantly. She so loved animals that, even though she could not afford to do so, she donated to animal charities. She was a Christian woman and lived her life as a believer. Most recently she attended Christ Church in Plano, Texas.
During her lifetime she lived in West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Texas. During the past 20 plus years she lived with her children. Her career was in retail and she was a buyer at Becker Drugs in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a homemaker and loving mother. Throughout her life she made a positive difference with whomever she came in contact with.
A private service will be held to honor and celebrate Evelyn's life. Evelyn will be laid to rest in the Columbarium at Christ Church Plano.
