William Edwin Neisel, 87, passed peacefully on July 31, 2022. He was born to William J. Neisel and Janet M. Neisel in New York, New York on June 25, 1935. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He married Christine Murphy in 1961, and after stays in Indianapolis, Manhattan, and Charlotte, they settled in Plano, Texas. Together they raised two sets of twins, Jerry & Phil and Kevin & Clark. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Christine M. Neisel, and is survived by his four children, their spouses, 7 grandchildren, and his brother Peter Neisel and his family. His family at Prairie Creek Baptist Church has also been a constant source of strength and friendship.
Inspired by having grown up in Brazil and several other South American countries, he had a lifelong love of Latin America and its culture and could easily converse with anyone who spoke Spanish or Portuguese. Most of all, though, he loved people, and he easily made fast and genuine friendships. He never met a stranger and was rarely at a loss for words, which was the perfect complement for his reserved wife. They are together again now, forever balancing each other out.
The family will likely hold a memorial service in the Fall of 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Parkinson’s Foundation, https://www.parkinson.org/ways-to-give
