William Lonnie (Lon) Graham

December 28, 1926 — October 4, 2018

William Lonnie “Lon” Graham was born on December 28th1926 in Tyler, Texas to his mother Carrie Anice and father William Alexander Graham. Lon grew up on M road North of San Juan, Texas on the family farm.

In his high school years Lon drove the school bus since their house was the last stop on the route. He left high school in his senior year to join in the WWII war effort. Lon already had 4 brothers serving and remained in San Diego after his Navy basic training to instruct on the rifle range.
Returning home, he helped on the family farm and drove a truck for a relative. About this time, he met the love of his life for 71 years, Billie June Harbison. They were married in 1947.Their life started as a farming family raising cotton and seasonal vegetables. After a number of years farming Lon started working off the farm for various Valley Companies and found his niche with Tide LPG in Edinburg.

Lon was asked to be an “interim” choir director by the pastor that married June and Lonnie. That interim turned out to be 8 years as Choir Director at First Baptist Church in Pharr, Texas.

Following his interest in the industry led him to move to the DFW area in 1966 to join Squibb Taylor and later join and retire from Northern Propane Gas Co. While visiting a long-time industry friend about his retirement, that friend asked him to join L E Klein to “help” out with LP Gas carburetion. The rest is history. He worked with his L E Klein family for another 33 years, lastly as President of the company. Lon’s L E Klein family has been named as his Honorary Pall Bearers.

Lon is survived by his loving wife Billie June Graham, daughter Sherryl (Sherri) Edwards; son Randall (Randy) Graham and his wife Marty; grandchildren Cliff Graham and his wife Dana and Bethany Graham; great grandchildren Madeline (Maddie) and McKaela (Kaela) Graham; sisters Beulah Garrett and Cleo Graham Hand.
