William David "Dave" Thompson

On August 21, 2019 William David “Dave” Thompson passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 68.

Dave was born January 20, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to Tom and Helen Thompson. Dave earned his Associate’s Degree in accounting from Columbus Technical Institute. In September 1977, he married the love of his life, Lynn, and they were happily married for over 40 years.

Dave’s pride and joy in life was taking care of his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed golf, refereeing volleyball, and shooting sports. Dave was a patriot – he loved God, his family, and his country. Dave also ran a successful business for many years and he will be remembered by his clients and colleagues for his integrity and dedication.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Lynn; his daughters Lauren Truitt, Peyton Haller, and McKenzie France; his grandchildren Lane Truitt, Wiley Truitt, Hunter Truitt, Buck Truitt, and Liam Haller; and his brother and sister Gary Thompson and Linda Lucas.  He is predeceased by his mother and father, and his grandson, Beau Truitt.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Allen Family Funeral Options.

The Funeral Service will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church, 6801 Coit Road, Plano, Texas 75024. A reception will follow.
