William "Bill" Christopher Keen

October 17, 1954 — July 29, 2019

William “Bill” Christopher Keen passed to the arms of our Lord on July 29 th , 2019, at the age of 64 at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital.  After becoming acutely ill and undergoing a liver transplant in March, he received the devastating diagnosis of hepatic angiosarcoma.  He chose to fight.  After two rounds of chemotherapy, his body succumbed and he passed peacefully with his family by his side.

Bill was born October 17 th , 1954, to Harold Claus Keen and Ruth Annette Beatty.  He lived in multiple cities throughout his childhood, but considered Boston his home.  Bill furthered his education at the University of Notre Dame, graduating with a degree in civil engineering.  He became a professional civil engineer and worked at PPG Industries before moving on to Harmon Contract Glazing.  He later joined his brother, Harold “Fred” Keen at TEPCO Contract Glazing in 1998 as the Vice President.  Bill became President and CEO in January 2013.  He was passionate about his job and dedicated to his employees.  He was known for being incredibly business savvy, his attention to detail, his red pen, absolute fairness, and passion for his projects.  Bill ended his career at TEPCOGLASS, LLC on June 30, 2019.  He was most proud of his work on the Notre Dame Football Stadium renovation, SuiteView, Addison Circle, the Dallas Convention Center, and Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City.

Bill’s pride and joy in life was taking care of his family.  When his children became interested in soccer, he and Lucinda encouraged camps, got their coaching licenses, took referee classes, and transitioned their backyard into a quarter of a soccer field.  Both he and Lucinda coached all of their children, attended all of their games, and drove them to almost every soccer field in the state of Minnesota.  When Chris became interested in flying, Bill also took flight lessons and purchased a plane with Chris to fly together.  When Lucinda’s passion became spending time on the beach listening to the waves, they invested in a condo to share with their family.  He was most looking forward to sharing his passion of Notre Dame football with the grandchildren in September and encouraging them to continue their education at Notre Dame.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Lucinda Marie Giersdorf, and his three treasured children and their spouses: Christopher Joseph Keen and daughter-in-law Lauren, Catherine Marie Keen and son-in-law Ryan Reid, and Victoria Ann Williams and son-in-law Spencer.  He is survived by his older brother Harold Frederick Keen and sister Martha Louise Neighbors.  He is also survived by his nine adored grandchildren: Isaac, Luke, and Victoria Keen; Allison, Nicholas, and Michael Reid; and Grady, Gavin, and Olivia Williams.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at the Allen Family Funeral Options Chapel.

A reception will follow.
