Wesley Ray Connally

September 1, 1940 — February 29, 2020

Wesley (Wes) Ray Connally was born September 1, 1940, in San Antonio, TX, to parents Alvah Roosevelt Connally and Helen Mildred (Johnson) Connally. He passed away February 29, 2020, in Dallas, Texas, after a 32-year battle with heart disease.

Wes was a kind-hearted and caring husband to Bettie, his wife of more than 45 years.

He proudly served his country during the early '60s as a member of the US Army, stationed in South Korea, among other places. He later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dallas Baptist University.

Wes mastered all that he set out to do, whether working on TVs in his early life, being a ham radio operator, collector and repairer of antique radios and clocks, serving as his own contractor when building his swimming pool, remodeling his own kitchen - you name it, he could do it - all while having a successful career at Texas Instruments as a technical writer.

Another of his endeavors was to fly a plane, and he became certified to pilot small private aircraft. He was unstoppable until being sidelined by heart disease while still in his prime.

Together, he and Bettie enjoyed many years of travel, genealogy research, time at their lake house, and he was never without a good book to read. He had a heart for others and enjoyed serving in the Stephen Ministry through his church and as a volunteer chaplain at the hospital. Additionally, he was a Master Mason out of Duck Creek Lodge #1419.

Wes is predeceased by his wife Bettie and brother Don. Survivors include his daughter Traci BaDour and her husband Tim, grandson Mason BaDour, granddaughter Madison BaDour, sisters-in-law Bobbie Bates and Mary Connally, brother-in-law Jr. Bates, nephew Mark Bates and his wife Holly, most cherished cat Rocky, and many extended family members.
