Walter Ford Keitzer, Md

Dr. W. Ford Keitzer passed away on January 21, 2021 at the home of his eldest daughter, Deb Outlaw in Plano, Texas at the age of 90.

Born July 28, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, Dr. Keitzer is predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Keitzer, his father, Walter A. Keitzer, his mother, Betty Ford Keitzer, and his younger sister, Lynda K. Knight. He is survived by his three daughters (Debra Keitzer Outlaw, Susan Reza, Christina Wise), one son (Brian Keitzer), three stepchildren (George Robertson, Vanessa Robertson Gray, and Joseph Robertson), and numerous great and grandchildren.

Dr. Keitzer received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and served as a medical officer in the Navy.  He practiced and taught surgery at the University of Missouri College of Medicine, UT Southwestern Medical School, the VA Hospital, Columbia, Missouri, the VA Hospital, Dallas, Texas, and UT Tyler.

He will be remembered for his wonderful intellect and love of teaching.

Due to concerns with the pandemic, Dr. Keitzer’s memorial will be postponed until July 6, 2021 at 11:15 am where he will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
