Wallace “Wally” Oliver Salls was born May 21, 1936, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to parents Wallace and Phyllis (Oliver) Salls. Wally went home for Christmas on Dec 20,2022 and is now celebrating Jesus' birthday with Him.
He grew up in York Maine and then went to serve his country in the United States Army. Afterwards, he graduated from Kent State University.
Wally started W.O.S.& Associates Inc. in 1971 and was still working at the time of his death. He enjoyed his job in the plastics industry and was known as "Mr. Plastic". He has been training his grandson to continue his legacy in the company he loves. Wally was successful because he genuinely cared about his customers, and many were like family to him.
He was a people person with a magnetic personality. He had a good sense of humor and an uncanny ability of finding something in common with everyone he met. He was a true patriot and a history buff. He traveled the world and was a captivating storyteller. Wally was an avid reader and sports fan. He was generous and helpful and was part of the Helping Hands Ministry at his church.
In 2004 his life changed for the better when he and Celia married. They had 18 years together and have enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandkids. The greatest joy in Wally's life was being "Pop" to his grandkids; he was a fun, loving, jovial and attentive grandfather. Rarely did he miss any of their activities and was present for most of their games. He was always their biggest fan and supporter.
Wally loved the holidays especially gathering with family and friends, playing games, and all the food. He always made a mincemeat pie and cranberry relish. He was a good cake baker and made the grandkids' birthday cakes each year. Wally was a Godly man of good character and will be greatly missed.
Wally is survived by his loving wife Celia Salls; children David Salls and his wife Suzy, Pam Salls Anclien and her husband Bob; Janis Harper and her husband Marty, Steve Bonds and his wife Jacque; grandchildren Paige, Will and Luke Harper and Zachary and Zane Bonds; nephew Thomas Freeland.
