Victoria (Pagliaro) Tremmel (85) passed peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2025, after four years of living with Alzheimer's disease. A life lived in service of others.
Vicki was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Fort Hamilton High School. She followed her true calling into nursing, graduating in 1961 from St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing School. She found love, marrying Joseph Tremmel in July of 1963, and moved to New Jersey to start their family, build a home and create a beautiful life.
Vicki worked as an Operating Room Nurse for more than 40 years at both St. Clare’s Hospital and Dover General Hospital in Morris County. Her skill, attention to detail and diligent work ethic had the best doctors regularly requesting her to scrub in on their surgeries. These traits were present in all parts of her life.
She was a devout Catholic her entire life, attending Our Lady of Angels (Brooklyn, New York), St. Clement’s Church (Rockaway, New Jersey), and finally Our Lady of Angels (Allen, Texas). She regularly enjoyed taking her grandchildren to church with a fun stop at McDonald’s or Wendy’s on the way home.
But as much as she loved her work and her faith, she lived for her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant everything to her — raising them with a focus on family, faith and togetherness. She worked hard to provide them with a loving home, a life of plenty and experiences she wished she’d had growing up. The importance of this stretched beyond her immediate family to her siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She loved to dance, sing, reminisce and laugh, hosting large gatherings of extended family with loads of food and fun at almost every holiday.
Vicki moved to Texas in 2006, several years after her divorce, to live near her son and his family. This became her time to travel, visiting Hawaii, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Peru and going on cruises to the Caribbean. She liked to be on the move and spent time living in different towns and types of homes, making many friends along the way through the places she lived and worked.
After she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she found her final home with the kind people of Grand Brook Memory Care in McKinney, Texas. For four years they, along with Anchor of Hope Hospice, assisted her son in caring for her with kindness, dignity and grace until she went home to the Lord.
Vicki is survived by her children Vikki Colacurcio (Mine Hill, New Jersey), Patricia Beyer (Oxford, New Jersey), and Peter Tremmel (Plano, Texas); her grandchildren Darren Miller, Catherine Beveridge, Brandon Mackey, Joseph Beyer, Julia Beyer, Matthew Tremmel and Mia Tremmel; great-grandchildren, Mason, Easton, Asher, and Aspen; her sister Patricia Holzman and brother-in-law Thomas Holzman (Rockaway, New Jersey); her former husband Joseph Tremmel (Sparta, New Jersey). She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances (Pokorny) Wallot; father, Henry Pagliaro; sister, Mary DeRosa; and her brothers, William McCabe and Vincent Pagliaro.
There will be a private family service.
