Vicki Carol Rost was born on April 25, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois and left this world on June 10, 2025. To say she will be missed is an understatement—her absence is a profound loss to all who were lucky enough to be part of her life.
From the moment she stepped onto the basketball court at the University of Arkansas, where she attended on scholarship, Vicki's competitive spirit shone through—a fire that carried her through her career, first in the oil and gas insurance industry and later as a dedicated office manager in the medical field until her well-deserved retirement. But beyond her accomplishments, she was a woman of deep love, unwavering kindness, and boundless energy.
Vicki found joy in life’s simple moments—on the soccer field, camping in the woods with family, surrounded by friends on game nights, and in the warmth of holiday traditions that she lovingly crafted. Baking holiday treats, the annual Christmas brunches, laughter when she and the other moms ate their brunch on the kitchen floor—these were her ways of wrapping her family in love and creating unforgettable memories.
But nothing compared to the joy she felt being with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, the reason for her happiest days. She reveled in their laughter, their milestones, their dreams. Family gatherings were sacred to her, and every game of dominos became a cherished memory. And always, in all things, her heart belonged to John. Theirs was a love story of devotion, of companionship, of pure happiness in simply being together.
Vicki is survived by her sister-in-law, Jeannie Bynum; her children, Nancy Edwards, Christopher Semple, Levi Tinney, April Wild, Laci Mendoza, Schuyler Adams, and Rachel Rost; and her grandchildren, Kyler Winfield, Jerimiah Wild, Layla Wild, Madison Fox, Avery Edwards, Ryan Adams, Cheyanne Adams, Mia Mendoza, Hannah Mendoza, and Pyper Adams.
She joins in eternal rest her father, Ralph Bynum; her mother, Jerline Wright; her brother, Jerry Bynum; her precious grandson, Peter Fox; and her loving husband, her “Sweetie”, John Rost—reunited at last.
Vicki’s legacy is one of love that never wavers, traditions that will be passed down from one generation to the next, and a spirit that will live on in every story shared, every holiday celebrated, every game played in her honor. The world is dimmer without her, but her light remains in the hearts of those she loved.
Rest well, Vicki. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
