Veronica Ann Vrotsos passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 20, 2024 at her home in Plano, Texas. Born to Ewald Scholz and Ramona Roper on September 15, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin although she lived most of her life in and around Dallas, Texas. Veronica's life centered around love of family, fine dining, travel, and champagne.
With the encouragement of Veronica's lifelong mentor Allie Simon, Veronica graduated from the University of Texas at Austin earning a BBA in Marketing in 1982 and became an accomplished businesswoman. In 1986, she met Tom Vrotsos, the love of her life, and they married in 1988. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Anthony and Kat, who were Veronica's pride and joy. She was deeply involved in their school activities and cherished her role as the "cookie mom" for Kat's Girl Scout troop. Veronica took great pride in the adults Anthony and Kat have become.
Veronica approached all aspects of her life with grace and optimism even during her 16 year ordeal with breast cancer. Tom, an avid photographer, documented this journey, capturing the love and humor that defined their family life. Veronica's attitude was, and continues to be, an inspiration to many.
Veronica is survived by her husband Tom, children Anthony and Kat, brother Brian Scholz, and her mother Ramona. Veronica was preceded in death by her father Ewald and her brother Michael Scholz.
A small celebration of Veronica's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Veronica to Operation Kindness:
