Venita Lynn Cox David was born on April 12, 1961. Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Audrey Lorraine and Floyd Barrett Cox.
As a child, Venita attended primary schools in Clute and Lake Jackson, Texas. In her late teens she moved to Los Angeles, California to be reared under the loving supervision of her maternal uncle, Willie B Goode. As a young adult she moved to New York City where, in 1984, she met her husband-to-be, Lawrence David. In 1990, they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lauren Ashley. In 1995 the family moved to Plano, Texas, where they were married and where the family has resided for 22 years.
In the wake of her beloved mother’s death in 2004, Venita dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized her dedication in baptism. Venita was a diligent Bible Student and an astute Bible Reader and if ever you wanted to know where to locate a particular chapter or verse of Scripture, she would be your go- to person. Venita loved serving her community by spreading the Good News of God’s Kingdom by means of the door to door ministry, cart witnessing, letter writing, and returning to interested persons in the community. She faithfully seized every opportunity to give a witness to anyone she met informally. Her passion in life became the Full Time Ministry, serving her God Jehovah as a Regular Pioneer in the Stone Creek Congregation for the past 10 years.
For relaxation she enjoyed gardening in her back yard after a full day in the Ministry. As well and most importantly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her daughter Lauren and her two grandchildren Justin and Peyton, ever hopeful that they would love Jehovah as she did.
She also enjoyed traveling; she and her daughter Lauren had opportunities to travel abroad to Paris, Italy, London, Spain and the Virgin Islands.
Venita was full of life with a loving, caring spirit. She was a capable wife, beloved mother and doting “Yaya” to her two grandchildren. Whenever a need arose in her family or in the Congregation she was there always offering a hand, a ride, a meal and more.
Venita is survived by her Husband Lawrence David, her Daughter Lauren A. David, her two Grand Kids Justin and Peyton, her 7 siblings, Jackie, Bobby, Mary Kathryn, Carolyn, Barry, Donna, Daniel and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will forever be missed by her family and friends. Venita’s faith in the Resurrection Hope and of living forever on Earth in Paradise was and is contagious. For her, the promise that pain and suffering is done away with is a reality soon to be realized. (Revelation 21: 3,4) (Isaiah 33:24).
