Timothy O Tillery

Aug 25, 1947 — Jul 12, 2026

Timothy O Tillery was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 25, 1947, to Eldean Tillery Wing (née Hurst) and Otis Vanison Tillery. He passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2026 following a sudden medical event. He graduated from Shawnee High School as a proud 65er. He later attended the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University, and Oklahoma State University, though he remained a lifelong and devoted Sooners fan.

Tim proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Navy before building a career in information technology. He eventually settled in Plano, Texas, where he worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and met the love of his life, Jill Passes Tillery. They shared 36 wonderful years of marriage. Above all else, Tim was devoted to his family. He was the proud father of two children: Rebecca Rowan (née Tillery), whom he shared with the late Margaret Taber Tillery of Shawnee, and Sam Trail, whom he shared with Jill. Becoming "Gimps" was one of the greatest joys of his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Raleigh Rowan (10), Delta Rowan (9), and Wesley Trail (6 months), and treasured every opportunity to make memories with them.

Tim also loved traveling with Jill (he had visited over 18 countries), cheering on the Texas Rangers, listening to Elvis, tending to his tomato garden, and spending as much time as possible on the golf course. He played golf three times a week with various men’s leagues in Plano, Texas and was a member of the Shawnee Elks Club for many years. Golf brought him countless happy memories and friendships.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Jill; his children, Rebecca and Sam; his grandchildren, Raleigh, Delta, and Wesley; his son-in-law, Garland Rowan; his daughter-in-law, Amy Trail; his brother, Pat Tillery of Shawnee; his sisters, Diana Marx (Hank) of Lewisville, Texas, and Tina Leone (Ken) of Shawnee; his brother-in-law, Greg Passes (Sherilyn) of Oakton, Virginia, his sister-in-law, Diane Bauer of Port Charlotte, Florida, his uncle, Jack Hurst of Shawnee; over 20 cousins, including special cousins Sam Patton, Regena Morton, and Jamie Murray; many beloved nieces and nephews; and dear family friends Ed and Liz Holland.

Tim will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, his love of family, his loyalty to friends, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held in late August at his favorite golf course in Plano, Texas.
