Therese Anne (Fleming) Butler, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in Plano, Texas, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 94. Therese was born in Buffalo, New York, where she attended Brockport State College and Bryant and Stratton College. She married her first love, Frank Butler, in 1952, and had five beautiful children: David, Susan, Mark, Kathleen, and Ellen. Therese had an engaging personality, even with strangers, and was often the life of the party. She was energized by family and friends. Therese remained active by attending church, Bingo, concerts, going to the movies, watching her favorite sports teams, and having weekly meals with family and friends.
Therese and Frank were married for 55 years, and their family knows that she is rejoicing at the reunion with her beloved husband, as well as her daughter, Susan, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Don Butler, brother Thomas Fleming, sister-in-law Donna Butler, cousin Jean Larkin, and countless friends and family.
Therese and Frank’s legacy of love lives on through their children: David Butler, Mark Butler and Janet, Kathleen Butler Montesanti, and Ellen Butler Volz and Patrick; two nieces: Patricia Butler and Eddie, and Jennifer Butler Carr and Tim; their 15 grandchildren: John, Colleen, Bridget, Dan and Joe Montesanti; Kevin, Caitlin, Emily, Brett, Andrew, and Jack Butler; David, Natalie and Charlotte Volz; and Alexander Mills; and their 11 great-grandchildren: Mazy, Walter, Zsa Zsa, Penelope, Sloane, Raylyn, Elizabeth, Josie, Juliette, Maggie, and Abigail.
There will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Plano, Texas. There will be a reception to follow the mass.
