Thelesa Idell Burson

Thelesa Idell Burson was born July 23, 1936 in Wink, Texas to parents Dred Andrew and Elizabeth Rose (Holmans) Cook. She passed away November 13, 2018 in Plano, Texas.

She grew up in Kermit, Texas and her family moved to Seminole, Texas where she graduated from high school. She went to college at the University of North Texas where she earned her degree in Education and met her future husband Ray Burson in 1956. They were married in August of 1958 in Brady, Texas. After 2 years of marriage they had their first son, Stuart and 3 years later their second son Marcus was born. They lived in Dallas until 1973 when they moved to Plano. Idell was very active in the Plano Garden Club and the Wednesday Reviewers Book Club. She enjoyed spending time with her Granddaughters and family. Idell will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, great mother, grandmother and friend.

Idell is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Ray Burson, sons Stuart Burson and his wife Helene and Marcus Burson and his wife Susan; granddaughters Stephanie Huber and her husband Jay and Kimberly Burson; brother Kenneth Cook and his wife Brenda and sister Charlotte Sundstrom and her husband David along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service to celebrate Idell’s life will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor David Blaylock officiating.
