Thai Q Lieu

Thai Quan Lieu passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Allen, Texas under the care of his family. He was 40 years old. Thai was born in Saigon, Vietnam on August 25th, 1977 to his mother Sang Thai and father Sang Lieu. Thai immigrated to the United States in 1983 with his father Sang and brother Trong where they settled down into the North Dallas area. The family was reunited 11 years later when Thai’s mother and sisters left Vietnam in 1994.

Thai was treasured by many and known for his unmistakable laugh and spontaneous dancing. He loved spending time with friends and was an avid pool player. Thai was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and spent many weekends rooting for his favorite team. Friends described him as happy, carefree, easy-going, and a cheerful goofball.

Thai is survived by his mother, Sang Thai, father, Sang Lieu, sister Thao and husband Thai-Vi, brother Trong and wife Phuong, nephews Elijah, Tyler, and Liam, sister My-Tien and husband Vu Huynh, nieces Phương-Nhã and Ái-Nhã, sister Mai-Trinh, sister Ally and husband William.

An evening of remembrance will be held for all friends and family at Allen Family Funeral Options in Plano, Texas, Thursday August 23rd, with visitation starting at 3:00pm and ending at 5:00pm. Thai will be cremated and laid to rest at Chùa Đạo Quang Buddhist Temple in Garland, Texas.
