Terry Alan Swanson

Terry Alan Swanson was born on September 21, 1963 in Atlantic, Iowa.

He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.  His family was very dear to him.  He was a loving father who adored his children more than anything in this world. No matter how far away we all lived from him, we knew how much he cared for us. He very willingly helped his Mom around her house and was quite the handyman.

Terry enjoyed gardening and would spend countless hours outdoors planting flowers.  He also loved to restore old cars, especially Volkswagon Beetles.  He was a huge football fan and his favorite teams were the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys.  Terry used to ride Motor-Cross when he was younger and loved the competitive nature of the sport. Taking peaceful rides in the country was also one of his favorite things to do.

He was very kind and loving to seniors and had a softy spot in his heart for all animals, but especially dogs.  Terry's heart was big and he would help anyone in need. Everyone that met him, loved him.  He had a gentle soul and will be greatly missed.  He left us way too soon.

Terry is survived by his children Justin Swanson of Omaha, Nebraska and Kaylee Rose Swanson of East Providence, Rhode Island, mother Betty Swanson of Plano, Texas, father Darwin Swanson of Elkhorn, Iowa; sisters Lorie Darland of Plano, Texas and Bea Swanson of Seattle, Washington; half brother, Travis Swanson of Chicago, Illinois and step brother, Todd Swanson of Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving are granddaughters Marlee Swanson and Lexi Swanson, nieces Kendal Swanson, Kameron Darland and Alexa Darland, nephew Tyler Darland and great-nephew Xander Green.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date in Iowa.
