Teresa S. Lee was born on October 3, 1944, in Seoul, Korea to parents Joong Yoon and Do Lee.
Beloved Teresa was the youngest of 8 children and grew up being loved and pampered by her brothers, sisters and of course her parents. She was extremely bright, and she won many praises from her teachers, parents, and friends, making her schoolmates and siblings very envious. While parents aren't supposed to have favorites, my mom was her father's favorite who spoiled her to no end!
She married Joseph (aka Chan) at the age of 24 and had two children, Cecilia and Peter. She worked hard to make sure that the family was well taken care of, and loved her children more than life itself, doing anything for their happiness. She loved to cook and always invited friends and family to share her bountiful table. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out. She radiated calmness, love, compassion and had a special gift for making everyone she met to fall instantly attached and love her. Teresa enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid runner, completing the LA Marathon and participating in the 196-mile Hood to Coast relay with her son. She loved her dogs and spoke to them like they were her human children. Seeing how she interacted with them, one might think she loved them more than her human children. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Chanyong Lee, daughter Cecilia, son Peter and his wife Wendy who blessed her life with two beautiful grandsons Owen and Oliver, her dogs Jinjin Jr and Lokai, her older sister (our Imo) in Korea, the last surviving sibling in her maternal family, and her three sisters-in-law Hwayoun in Korea, and Maria and Julia in Northern California.
There will be a funeral mass to celebrate Teresa’s life at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Dallas. Texas. A rosary will be prayed prior to the mass at 9:30 a.m. There will be a reception following the service.
Teresa will be laid to rest in California.
