Tab Arthur Brede was born, Thomas Arthur Brede, on April 25,1959 to parents Erwin Charles Brede and Dorothy Ford Brede. He was baptized as a child in the Lutheran Church, and he always had a strong love for the Lord. Tab passed away on August 5, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.
Growing up, Tab’s family moved to thirty separate places with his dad’s job. They lived in states all along the Gulf coast and even as far north as Alaska. Tab graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1977 and then received an associate degree from Mountain View College in 1980. Tab worked as a class A machinist at Texas Instruments. He was then manager at Jay’s Auto Supply for 16 years and got to work alongside some his lifelong friends. In 1997, he became Regional Sales Manager with Grote Industries then with Bendix until 2016. During these 19 years in sales, he traveled across four states calling on many customers and winning “Top Salesman of the year” several times for both companies. He has made many friends during this time and many of them remained close over the years. His last position was with Graham International where he traveled several towns in East Texas for 5 years.
Tab had many hobbies including classic cars, playing pool, listening to music, watching movies, duck hunting, all electronics, computers, playing chess, reading books, writing poetry and theories about life. He also had a love of old houses and antique shopping with and for his wife Donna.
Tab met his wife Donna Compton, in 1989 and they were married for 33 years. They enjoyed raising their two children and even got to travel to many separate places and countries for fun. He and his wife moved to Winnsboro, Texas in 2015 and were members of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Donna, their children, daughter Angie, son Colton and fiancée Haley Key, granddaughter Hanna Schapeler, older brother Jeb Brede, nephew Justin and wife Jaclyn and their children Savannah, Bennett and Hunter. Tab is preceded in death by both parents, his father Erwin Charles Brede and mother Dorothy Ford Brede.
A memorial service to celebrate Tab’s life will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options, with Reverend Debbie Lyons officiating. To join the service by webcast, please visit: http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/77447
There will be a reception following the service; light food will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.
