Sun Ye Taylor

November 30, 1936 — January 1, 2020

Sun Ye (Cho) Taylor was born in Korea on November 30, 1936 to Do Bong and Ulye Cho.  She passed away on January 1, 2020.

Sun Ye Taylor - affectionately known as Sunny - immigrated to Anchorage, Alaska from Seoul, Korea where she worked around the clock to provide for her two young daughters.  She retired in 1999 and moved to Dallas, Texas to be with her family.

Sunny loved God, her children and “senior adult” games (like bingo and slots).   Her daily life revolved around her children ... until her grandchildren came along.

Sunny was deeply committed to helping young single mothers succeed.  To that end, she provided free care to children of single moms attending college.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Rhoades and Lynda Reid; grandchildren, Rachel Rhoades and Brian Rhoades; brother, Wan Joon Cho (Ha Soon); nephew, Paul James Cho and niece, Grace Cho.  She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Soon Ye Kwon.

Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Allen Family Funeral Options with a visitation beginning one hour prior at Noon.  Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 S. McDonald Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.

Sunny’s family wish to thank all who cared for her during her last days.

If it is your wish, the family suggests memorial donations, in Sunny’s name, may be made to the Orchid Giving Circle of the Texas Women’s Foundation (an organization dedicated to serving Asian women), Campbell Centre II, 8150 North Central Expressway Suite 110, Dallas, Texas 75206, phone: (214) 965-9977 or https://www.txwf.org/orchid-giving-circle/.
