Stanley Eugene Wilson, 88, of Plano, Texas, passed away into the loving arms of his Savior at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family and Lord. He was born on April 8,1935, in Spartanburg, South Carolina and was the firstborn of two sons. Stanley moved with his family to Florida in the 1960s and later pursued a career in the aviation industry for over forty years in Miami, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia.
While in Miami, he met the love of his life and the only girl he would ever kiss, his treasured Ellen, whom he would marry. Stanley knew that besides Jesus, his top priority was his bride and family. He was faithful in sickness and health and through the greatest challenges he and Ellen faced together.
Stanley will be remembered for being thoroughly dependable, consistently encouraging, loyal and loving to his family, impeccable in his work ethic, and excellent in all he did. His smile and kind charm were remarkable to all who met him, and he never failed to help someone in need.
He took great joy being with Ellen and his grandchildren, discussing airplanes with anyone, enjoying a great meal with family or friends, and doing anything that required a tool in his hand.
Stanley was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother. After fifty-three years of marriage and honorable service to his community, church, and Christ, we are honored to agree with the Lord saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Paul Eugene Wilson, and his mother, Marguerite Broom Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife Ellen, his two sons and daughter-in-law Stephen and Betsy Wilson and Scott and Valerie Wilson; grandchildren Reese, Riley, Lexa, Max and Annie, Broc, Parker, Cash, Luc, and Colten; his brother Larry Wilson and nieces, Christine, and Pauline; cousin Diane as well as loving friends and his Fellowship Church family.
There will be a Celebration of Life service to honor Stanley at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, 2450 State Highway 121, Grapevine, Texas 79051, with Pastor Ed Young officiating. All family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend.
Stanley took great joy in seeing youth come to know Jesus personally. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Allaso Ranch Camp Fund at Fellowship Church.
