Shirley Greer

Shirley Greer was born August 15, 1942, in Spur, Texas to parents Robert and Syble (Smith) Greer.

She met Lloyd R. DeYear in 1991 in Dallas, Texas and they were married on April 21, 1992. Lloyd retired shortly thereafter, and they purchased a motor home and handled auto insurance claims for Hurricane Andrew in Florida.

They bought and refurbished another motor home and then travelled extensively in the motor home for a couple of years including a trip to Canada. They also took several cruises where they both saw many fun places in Europe, South America, and other countries along the way.

Over the next seventeen years they saw many places and travelled to many destinations. They enjoyed movies and playing cards, especially Hand and Foot Canasta.  Unfortunately, Shirley lost Lloyd DeYear to pancreatic cancer on September 13, 2009.

She is survived by sister-in-law Lucy Greer and her children, daughter Jamie Greer Wilshire and son Robert Greer, brother Jerry Greer and his children daughter Melissa Greer and son Chad Greer.

Shirley was the step-grandmother to Stephanie Shelton, Samantha Shelton, Nicole DeYear, Connor DeYear, and Ryan DeYear. She was also the step-great grandmother to Damon and Dalton Shelton.
