Scott Thomas Yahnke peacefully went to Heaven on November 13, 2025, after a strong fight of 17 months of Small Cell Lung Cancer, which continued to the Hip and the Brain. Forever loved by his mother Sonja and sister Tamara (Tami) Yahnke.
Scott was adopted on May 24, 1974, and joined his sister Tamara to complete the family for Tom and Sonja Yahnke in Crystal, Minnesota. What a bundle of joy we were blessed with. Shortly after that, the family moved to Mankato, Minnesota. It was there that Scott started his love for the Minnesota Vikings as that is where they practiced before the season each year. Then the family moved to Apple Valley, Minnesota which increased his Viking passion.
Scott attended his primary grades in Apple Valley before the family moved to Dallas, Texas. He then attended Liberty Junior High and Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. He played a variety of sports through the years but enjoyed Hockey the best. After taking a year off he attended Southwest Texas State University graduating with a degree in business.
He continued to live in the Austin, Texas area and worked in the banking business with NAF and then with Prescription Life Line.
Scott had a gift for art and could design and create many things. He would build furniture for his own apartment and many things for the family. His companion for many years was his dog, Mary, till she went to heaven.
His Passion for the Minnesota Vikings continued to the end of his life. He had a home full of Viking items and wore the clothing often. He enjoyed many friends through the years and cherished all the love and friendship he received.
Scott will be missed by his mother, sister and aunts, Diane Zuehl and husband Roger, Nancy Salisbury, Janet Brueseitz and husband Robert, Linda Currens, and many loving cousins from both the Yahnke and Kline families. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Yahnke, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
