Morris James Johnson was born November 16, 1930 in Crowley, Louisiana to parents Moise and Hazel (Gary) Johnson.
Morris served in the Army National Guard for 91/2 years attaining the rank of Master Sargent He worked for Gulf States Utilities in Orange and Beaumont, TX for 29 ½ years before moving to Dallas in 1977 to become a homebuilder. He moved on to be a land developer until he retired. After his retirement, he decided he needed something to do so he went to work for Elliott’s Hardware in Plano, TX where he worked for 14 years beginning as a Greeter and then a Sales Associate developing many lasting friendships.
Morris never met a stranger. He loved the Lord and he and his wife attended and served at Chase Oaks Church for nearly 30 years. Morris is now rejoicing with the Lord and waiting for us to join him one day. He always had words of encouragement and was so upbeat and vivacious. His love for his family was obvious in how he interacted with them, especially his grandsons.
Morris welcomed everyone with a smile, a handshake, and/or a hug.
Morris met his wife Kathy in 1980 and married in 1987 and have been inseparable since. We lost an incredibly special man who loved his wife and family!
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife Kathy Johnson, daughter Paula Johnson, son Mark Johnson along with his beloved stepchildren LaDonna Wallace and her husband Andy, Michael Lewis, and Jeff Lewis. He also leaves behind two precious grandsons, Addison Wallace and Zackrey Lewis, his siblings HR Harris, Gary and his wife Barbara Johnson, and Lois and husband David Barr and many nieces and nephews.
Morris is preceded in death by his parents, Moise and Hazel (Flossy) Johnson and some special friends.
