Sandra Zita (Sudduth) Pratt was born in Rayne, Louisiana to James Edward Sudduth and Norma Marie Sudduth (Bertrand) and passed away at her residence in Richardson, Texas surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.
She was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana and graduated from St. Charles Academy in 1958. She graduated from McNeese College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She married Charles Robert Pratt, Jr. in the same year, honeymooned in New Orleans, and moved to Bradford, Pennsylvania, where she taught English. A few years later, they moved to Raleigh North Carolina and started their family.
In 1969, they relocated to Richardson, Texas with their first 2 children and shortly thereafter added a third in 1970. Sandra focused on raising their family, becoming active in her Church, and working for a “Highschool through the mail” correspondence company. She enjoyed sewing, time with friends, traveling the world, and was active volunteering in her children’s activities and organizations. She had a remarkable sense of humor and enjoyed a good practical joke.
Her spiritual community as well as Al-anon were extremely important to her and she cultivated a large garden of friends. She frequently commented that her children are the most important thing in her life. She held a number of other jobs until she found her calling as an event and wedding coordinator where she worked for almost 20 years. She was instrumental in the development of the Westerman Foundation in 2000 which was one of her passions.
She is survived by her sister, Sarita Fahrmann, 3 children; Charles “Chip” Pratt (Kathy), Pamela Hannappel (Mark), and Christopher Pratt (Cesily) and her 4 grandchildren; Madeline Hannappel, Alexander Hannappel, Olivia Pratt, and Amelia Pratt.
