Sandra Stokes Chandler

Sandra S. Chandler, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend was called home by her heavenly father on February 15, 2023.  She was 83 years old.

Sandra was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 24, 1940.  She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Community College.  After working for a while in the office of Winn-Dixie, she flew for United Airlines and was stationed in New York and San Francisco.  Missing her family, she returned to the office of Winn-Dixie in Jacksonville.  Her office mate became her sister-in-law when she introduced Sandra to her brother, Dennis.  He became the love of her life.  They were married for 54 years.  She loved her husband and children with a fierceness that will always be felt.  She claimed to be the hot fudge to his vanilla ice cream, and she was!

Sandra found Jesus at the Young Life meetings she attended with Dennis on their dates.  She became a faithful follower of Christ and taught her children to love and follow the Lord as well.  She was full of life and the joy she had overflowed to everyone around her.  She was loved by so many!

She worked at the Apparel Mart for 15 years and met many lifelong friends.  After that she worked at Clothes Circuit with many of those same friends. She had a great group of faithful women that met weekly as mighty prayer warriors.

She treasured her relationships with her family and friends and loved a good gathering of both.  She will be remembered for her love of Christ, her big smile and how she made others feel around her.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis.  She is survived by her 3 children, daughters Ashley Chandler and Missy Chukhadarian, husband Vartan, and son Walter Chandler; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. As well as extended family that she loved and was loved by.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Sandra's life Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church Plano, 4500 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas officiated by Rev. Jeff Rawn. A reception to follow immediately following the funeral.

Sandra will be laid to rest with her husband at the Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas
