Proud mother and homemaker, Roberta (Bobbi) Keiser Hawkins passed away suddenly December 27, 2022 surrounded by her family and husband of 50 years. A long time Danville resident, she was a loving mother of four of her own children, seven grandchildren with another on the way and a self-employed day care provider. She loved babies and at one time was a new mother with four children under the age of five – the last two children were twins. Much of her life was focused on babies and she often said that infants were closest to God because they were in heaven right before they were born. The other love of her life was her husband, Brad. They were introduced by a mutual friend and Bobbi’s sister in 1972 while Brad was in the Army stationed in Germany. Brad proposed to Bobbi six days after they met. As she agreed, she said: “What took you so long?”
The very definition of a soccer Mom, she could often be seen traveling around town in her Suburban taking her kids and others to and from school, soccer practice and shopping. Besides her super Mom duties, she was active in National Charity League, Community Presbyterian Church (CPC), Bible Studies, 35 years with the Bunco Babes as well as a favorite to many of her children’s friends --- she was a mother to every child who entered their house.
Brad and Bobbi relocated to suburban Dallas in 2021 to be near their grandchildren. Moving to Texas afforded them the opportunity to interact with their four grandchildren near them, and their two grandchildren in Austin. They are so excited to now participate in those same activities their own children were involved with, such as soccer, lacrosse and dance.
Bobbi is survived by her four children and their spouses, Krista Thomas (Brian) of Austin, Texas; Daniel Hawkins (Jasmine) of Prosper, Texas; Jonathan Hawkins (Katie) of San Leandro and Julie Martin (Rafael) of Lafayette. Also known as Mimi, she is the loving grandmother of Kylie and Ben Thomas; Hailey, Liam, Savannah and Lucas Hawkins; and Kaili Hawkins as well as Keiser Hawkins who is expected to be born in March.
Bobbi is also survived by her sisters Patty Newby and Mary Short (Tom) all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brad’s brother, Steve Hawkins, of Danville.
A Celebration of Life was be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church (CPC), 222 El Pintado, Danville, California. A reception immediately followed the service at Crow Canyon Country Club, main ballroom, 711 Silver Lake Drive, Danville, California. There will also be a private service in the Dallas area on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
The family is proud that Bobbi had made the decision to donate her organs to medical research. It is in true Bobbi fashion that her last humanly act would be to save the lives of others. She was truly a selfless person. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any charitable donations be made to the organization, Donate Life at: h ttps://www.donatelifetexas.org
