Robert Joseph Wofford

Robert Joseph Wofford, beloved son of Michael and Rose (Bevilacqua) Wofford passed away unexpectedly on Mother's Day May 13, 2018.

Robert was born on April 27, 1992 in Plano, Texas. After graduating from Plano Senior High School in 2010, Robert continued his education at Collin College. Interests shifted to Automotive Technology following his brother's death in 2011. Robert graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2013 and briefly worked in the automotive field. He quickly figured out this was not the career for him but continued automotive repair as a hobby and a side job. Robert retuned to Collin College to complete an Associates of Science degree, graduating in 2015. He was in the process of completing his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Bio-Chemistry. Robert’s goal was to pursue a laboratory career at UT Southwestern.

He had an array of talents and hobbies in addition to automotive repair, which he pursued with avid interest, including all types of outdoor sports, fitness/body building, cooking up delights from around the globe and in his spare time growing fresh produce in his garden. His outdoor adventures included hiking camping, backpacking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, rock climbing, horseback riding and golfing just to mention a few. Robert will be sorely missed for his selfless caring, kindness, and loyalty to family and friends mixed with a sense of joy and humor.

Robert is survived by his loving parents Michael and Rose Wofford, paternal grandparents Charles and Jeanine Wofford, maternal grandmother Helen Bevilacqua; aunts and uncles Stephen Wofford and his wife Mary, Susan Mead and her husband Mike, Mary Ropp and her husband Jeffrey; cousins Jennifer Rupinsky and her husband Mike and their children Eve and Leo, Dan Fiorenzo, Chase, Stephanie and Burke Wofford and Jason Mead. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Vito Bevilacqua, brother Michael Charles Wofford, aunt Francine Fiorenzo, uncle Charles Bevilacqua, cousin Lila Rupinsky.

There will be a vigil service and visitation Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023 with The Reverend Monsignor Henry Petter, celebrant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 18, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with The Reverend Bruce Bradley, celebrant. There will be a reception immediately following the mass in the parish hall. Robert will be laid to rest in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Columbarium.
