Robert (Rob) Allan Renick

September 26, 1960 — February 8, 2021

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. ~ Psalm 23:4 ~

Robert Allan Renick of Plano, Texas, began his eternal life on February 8, 2021. His life was marked by his loving nature, faith, selflessness, courage, and of course his go-getter attitude. It was clear that Rob was a Godly man, and even through uncertain times he always found encouragement in Christ our Savior.

Rob was born on September 26, 1960 to George Albert Renick and Rose Cusumano Renick in Lorain, Ohio and was one of five children. As a small child Rob dreamed of being a Buckeye and fulfilled that dream studying engineering at The Ohio State University. Everyone that knew Rob knew he took great pride in being a Buckeye, and always carried his buckeye in his pocket for good luck. Rob later obtained his MBA from Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern. From corporate beginnings to his entrepreneurial ventures, Rob was always excited to tackle the next challenge. He often referred to himself as a “hunter”, one who was ready to dive into every opportunity with determination and one hundred percent of his effort.

As Rob progressed on his Journey through life, he never lost touch with his roots. Rob was proud of where he was from and his beginnings and he remained a dedicated friend to those close. If you were his friend, you were his friend for life, you became family, and Rob made that clear. If he ever made you meatballs, you were “family”.  Above all else, Rob loved his family.

Rob battled with leukemia over the past decade, and that battle truly defined his character. He lived life to the fullest, he did not take a single God given day for granted and he never lost hope in healing. Rob cherished his time with his wife Leigh dearly whether it was a night out on the town or listening to records and dancing around the house. Rob took pride in his role as a father and never missed an opportunity to support and celebrate his children. He was a diehard fan of ALL Ohio based teams from his Indians, Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes to the Cavaliers. His church (Prestonwood) was his “Heaven on earth”. Rob was passionate about his career. Rob enjoyed nothing more than just spending time with his family. Rob was a dedicated husband, his love for his children was the joy of his life, and his spirit will live on through them forever.

Rob is survived by his wife Leigh; his son Ryan; daughter Ashleigh and her husband Adam; Sisters Patti, Georgie and husband Dave; brothers Ron and Randy; Mother-in-law Doris; Sister-in-Law Dee and husband Bob. Being deeply rooted in a large Italian family, Rob is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Faith Chapel, 6801 W Park Blvd., Plano, Texas  75093. There will be a livestream of the service on Robs Facebook page of the service.https://zoom.us/my/bobmalone
