He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Umberto and Angelina Mosera, as well as his loving brother, Dominick Mosera; dear brother-in-law, Vito “Tony” Calamito; and sweet sisters-in-law, Phyllis Mosera and Eileen Fazio.
Robert was born in Jersey City, NJ, raised in West New York, NJ, and played both baseball and football. His favorite teams were the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He met the love of his life, Josephine, in February 1952, and he asked her to go steady on March 18. They were engaged in December that same year. In July of 1953, he was drafted by the Army, and in December landed in Korea. In January 1954, he was assigned demilitarized zone duty, then in August became the military librarian.
The following year, he received orders to return home and was discharged from the Army; later that same year, Bob married Josephine in September 1955. In July 1956, Bob began his lifelong career at JCPenney Co. Headquarters in NYC. He graduated in June 1961 from Seton Hall University and also became the Manager of Accounts Payable at JCP the same month. In his career at JCP, he received promotions in the merchandise budgeting, accounting and marketing departments, ultimately becoming the Financial Control Manager in 1985, and subsequently transferring with JCP and moving to Texas in 1988. Bob continued in this role until April 1994, and his successful career was celebrated in a retirement party attended by JCP officials, his co-workers, family and many friends.
Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Parish, attending daily masses with his beloved wife, Josephine. He was an avid bowler, bowling in work leagues along with his son, Brian. Bob also loved to draw little portraits. He was most tickled when his daughter, Angela-Rose, surprised him one Christmas and set up a site, BobNoseBest, to sell his sketches online & most humbled when he received several custom sketch orders.
Bob also was very fond of card play, teaching his children the Art of Poker and his granddaughter, Dylan, Rummy and War. In NJ, it was trips to Atlantic City; once moving to Texas, it was trips to Shreveport and in later years, trips to Oklahoma. At times, these were small family fun vacations with Josephine, Brian, Donna, Michael, Erica, Angela-Rose and Alicia, and even Dylan Marie in accompaniment once.
When driving to Oklahoma became too much for Bob to endure on his own, his dear friend, who was more like a family member, Bob Terzo, would happily drive him on an excursion to Durant. Bob always enjoyed having guests at his home, providing meals with enough food to feed the entire neighborhood. Serving wine and cocktails was his specialty and he greatly cherished when family would come to town to visit, no matter how long they would stay, his door was always open.
He was a gracious man and will be missed by many. We are thankful that he has gone home to rejoice in the Lord’s Salvation with his family and friends. We Pray his Soul may rest in peace.
