Robert Charles Dailey

Robert Charles Dailey was born July 17, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away on August 11, 2026, of natural causes.

Robert “Bob” Dailey was one of four sons of Dick and Madeline Dailey. The oldest, Dick Dailey, resides in Montana with his wife, Alice. Thomas and Don predeceased Bob. Bob was married to Sharon Dailey for 42 wonderful years. He is preceded in death by his children, Jill and Tom, and wife, Sharon. Bob is survived by his stepsons Renny and Anthony Semprun, his daughter-in-law Camille, grandchildren Breanna (Dailey), Rickner, her husband Austin, and their daughter Carter (great-grandchild), Shane Dailey, and Julianna Semprun.

Bob was known for his active lifestyle. It began at the family farm where there were no easy days. He continued to challenge himself by joining the Marines in 1953 during the Korean War. While serving, he earned the UN Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the National Service Defense Medal. Bob epitomized the phrase, “once a Marine, always a Marine.” Bob took his title quite seriously for the rest of his life. Following his service, and a few jobs later, he established himself in a sales role for a thermal ceramics company in Texas for 30 years.

In the 80s, Bob began running to stay in shape for tennis. He grew to love running and subsequently competed in 13 marathons, including the world-famous Boston Marathon. In between work and training for races, he was an avid reader, kept busy with home projects, and traveled the world with his wife Sharon.

He was famous for a few culinary specialties: a delicious “cheese-in” burger, fiery salsa, and rib roast on special occasions. While in his 80’s, Bob volunteered for Toys for Tots with the Marine Corps Reserve and served as a rifleman in the Marine Corps League Honor Guard at DFW National Cemetery. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren and his cherished dogs, Bradley, Britta, and Buddy.

Robert’s family asks that he be remembered for his patriotism and his love of family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026, at St. Mark the Apostle Catholic Church in Plano, Texas,
