Robert (Bob) Hall Terry, Jr.

September 23, 1940 — May 6, 2021

Robert (Bob) Hall Terry, Jr was born September 23, 1940 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to parents Robert Hall Terry, Sr., and Clotilde (Houk) Terry.  On May 6, 2021, the Lord called Bob to his heavenly home.

Bob graduated from University High School in Baton Rouge, LA in 1958.  Bob was highly active in high school sports; he played on the varsity football team and was also a starting pitcher for the varsity baseball team.  In addition to sports, Bob was a member of the Key Club and also Hi-Y Club (a Christian and service organization).

After graduation, Bob attended Louisiana Tech where he was a walk-on on for the baseball team where he played.  Bob was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.   His college education was delayed as he served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Homestead, Florida in Radar Operations during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Upon release from the Air Force, Bob returned to Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a degree in Personnel Management in 1969.  After completing college, Bob accepted a management position with J C Penney and Company in Lafayette.  His weekend work schedule, however, conflicted with his LSU Tiger football games; and Bob found other work in areas until finding his dream career with the Federal Government as a Courtroom Deputy for the Honorable Judge Tom Stagg, where he worked for over 20 years.

Bob was raised in the Baptist faith, being a member of various churches until adulthood.  He was a faithful member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for over 44 years.  He was also an avid LSU Tiger fan and held season tickets for over 55 years. Bob loved his family and church family dearly.

The Terry family wishes to thank the staff of Baylor Heart Hospital and Valve Clinic for the wonderful care provided to Bob and his family.

Bob survived by his wife, the love of his life of 59 years, Sandra Brewer Terry; daughter Wendy Terry Rickert and her husband Jeff of Prosper, Texas, son Michael Terry of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren Mallory Rickert Darden and her husband John of McKinney, Texas, Matthew Rickert and his wife Nicole of The Colony, Texas, Liam and Tess Baez- Terry of Anchorage, Alaska and additional others, great grandson Pierce Darden.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and sister Eulora Bass.

There will be a celebration of Bob's life Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas.  There will also be a reception held in Bob's honor Friday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church Parlor, 4110 Youree Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana.
