Ruth Riley White, 85, of Plano, Texas passed away on January 23, 2024 due to Cardiac complications. Riley was born on August 25, 1938 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Maurice & Joyce Renner. After Riley graduated from Fayetteville High in 1956, She went on to study at Cottey College and Western Colorado University.
In 1965 Riley met her husband, Lary, at work in Kansas City, Missouri. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage and together they raised 3 children, Lary Lynn, Sean and Rozalyn.
They began their early married years in Kansas City, Missouri. Seven years later, Lary took a job that moved the family to St. Louis, Missouri where they lived the next 14 years. In those early years, Riley was an avid Tennis player, playing tournaments with a local league. She also loved hosting parties, antiquing, and spending vacations with the family in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Riley was outgoing, loved being around family and friends and never met a stranger. In 1986 the family moved to Plano,Texas and it was then she began to study genealogy, which became a lifelong passion. Riley enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her 7 grandchildren when she could. She was their biggest cheerleader and you could always find her at their various activities or events.
Riley is survived by husband Lary White of Plano, Texas; son Lary Lynn White of Plano, Texas; son Sean White of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Rozalyn Payne & husband John of McKinney, Texas; and 7 Grandchildren, Grace White, Ian White, Elise White, Mary White & Catherine White of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Colton Payne & Cassidy Payne of McKinney, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice & Joyce Renner, and brother Bobby Renner.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Allen Family Funeral Options.
