Richard Montemurro

Richard Montemurro passed away on March 13, 2024 after a brief illness.  A resident of Plano, Texas since 1984, he was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 10, 1933, along with his late twin brother Donald, to the late Angelo “Emil” Montemurro and the late Euretta (Brown) Montemurro.  He was predeceased by his wife of over 30 years, Lucy Horn Montemurro, stepson Paul Merraro and his older brother Donald and younger brother James. He is survived by his younger sister Linda (the late Carl) Chambers, sons Michael (Patricia) Montemurro and Robert (Heidi) Montemurro and stepsons Michael Marerro and Mark Stephen Marrero along with grandchildren Meghan Montemurro, Brian (Mallory) Montemurro, Matthew (Marlene) Montemurro, Daniel (Jennifer) Montemurro and Alexandria (Roi) Ceren and 5 great grandchildren.

Richard was a 1951 graduate of St Ignatius High School in Chicago and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1982. He also served two years in the 6th Armored Division from 1954-56. He spent most of his career working in various companies like Beckman Instruments, Northrop Grumman and Texas Instruments, building and maintaining electronic test equipment. He was very handy and enjoyed completing various remodeling and gardening projects in his homes. He and Lucy enjoyed traveling around the country and especially enjoyed going to and participating in square dancing events in various places.

A special thanks to Mike Marrero for all the help he gave Richard during the past year as his health began to fail.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choosing.

A memorial service will be held for Richard at Allen Family Funeral Options on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The Rosary will be recited prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
