Ricardo Rivera was born August 5, 1993 in Mexico to parents Raul and Angela Rivera.
Ricardo: his name means brave ruler. He was noble, a great listener, and of great will. He loved his family, friends, and teachers very much. Even though he had health problems and a disability he never complained, he was strong and happy. Everyone that knew him can say that there was never a sad moment with Ricardo, he was full of joy.
His laughter would fill up a whole room. He loved to joke and have a good laugh with everyone he met. He enjoyed listening to music and dancing very much. Ever since he was a little boy, he loved playing video games. His dad gifted him his first Nintendo, where he could pass hours playing Mario Bros. He would say that when he would grow up, he wanted to be a computer tech.
When he found out he was going to have a baby brother he was super excited and could not wait to meet him. When his brother was older, he would take care of him and play with him. He loved showing him how to play his favorite video games.
At his school, My Possibilities, he would never miss a Thursday because it was wrestling club day, his favorite sport. He loved going to the movies, going out to eat with friends. His favorite food was his moms and enjoyed all the desserts her sister prepared. Ricardo could never say no to good food.
He was a very loving uncle to his nieces. At the age of 12, he was granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish foundation with the help of his teacher Mrs. Schram. He could pick anything he wanted; he chose to take his family to Disney World. It was an unforgettable trip for the whole family, everyone enjoyed it. He was selfless, he chose something the whole family could enjoy not just him. He cared very much for his family.
Ricardo had the biggest heart; the Doctors had given him a short life span due to his illnesses, but he lived much longer than expected. Only God knew his journey and how much he would endure.
Ricardo will forever live in our hearts. He will be remembered as a happy boy that brought us much joy. He taught us that no matter your disability or illness, we should always smile and enjoy our lives with our loved ones.
Ricardo is survived by his parents Raul and Angela Rivera; siblings Maria Rivera and her husband Gabriel Soto, Gabriela Rivera, Beatric Rivera, Marina Rivera, Alexander Rivera and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, counsins and friends.
There will be a visitation Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 7:00-9:00 with a rosary that begins at 6:30 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 12:00 noon at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 1105 W 15th St., Plano, Texas with Fr. Roshan Fernandes officiating.
Ricardo will be laid to rest at Plano Mutual Cemetery following the service.

Ricardo: su nombre significa gobernante valiente. Era noble, un gran oyente y de gran voluntad. Amaba mucho a su familia, amigos y maestros. A pesar de que tenía problemas de salud y una discapacidad que nunca se quejó, era fuerte y feliz. Todos los que lo conocieron pueden decir que nunca hubo un momento triste con Ricardo, estaba lleno de alegría.
Su risa llenaría toda una habitación. Le encantaba bromear y reírse bien con todos los que conoció. Le gustaba mucho escuchar música y bailar. Desde que era un niño, le encantaba jugar videojuegos. Su padre le regaló su primera Nintendo, donde podía pasar horas interpretando a Mario Bros. Diría que cuando creciera, quería ser un técnico en computación.
Cuando se enteró de que iba a tener un hermanito estaba súper emocionado y no podía esperar a conocerlo. Cuando su hermano era mayor, él lo cuidaba y jugaba con él. Le encantaba mostrarle cómo jugar a sus videojuegos favoritos.
En su escuela, Mis posibilidades, nunca se perdería un jueves porque era el día del club de lucha libre, su deporte favorito. Le encantaba ir al cine, salir a comer con amigos. Su comida favorita eran sus madres y disfrutaba de todos los postres que su hermana preparaba. Ricardo nunca podría decir que no a la buena comida.
Era un tío muy cariñoso con sus sobrinas. A la edad de 12 años, la fundación Make-A-Wish le concedió un deseo con la ayuda de su maestra, la Sra. Schram. Podía elegir lo que quisiera; eligió llevar a su familia a Disney World. Fue un viaje inolvidable para toda la familia, todo el mundo lo disfrutó. Era desinteresado, eligió algo que toda la familia podía disfrutar no sólo de él. Le importaba mucho su familia.
Ricardo tenía el corazón más grande; los médicos le habían dado una corta vida útil debido a sus enfermedades, pero vivió mucho más de lo esperado. Sólo Dios conocía su viaje y cuánto soportaría.
Ricardo vivirá para siempre en nuestros corazones. Será recordado como un niño feliz que nos trajo mucha alegría. Nos enseñó que no importa su discapacidad o enfermedad, siempre debemos sonreír y disfrutar de nuestras vidas con nuestros seres queridos.
A Ricardo le sobreviven sus padres Raúl y Angela Rivera; hermanos Maria Rivera y su esposo Gabriel Soto, Gabriela Rivera, Beatric Rivera, Marina Rivera, Alexander Rivera y muchas sobrinas amorosas, sobrinos, tías, tíos, counsins y amigos.
Habrá una visita el jueves 22 de octubre de 2020 de 7:00-9:00 con un rosario que comienza a las 6:30 p.m. en Allen Family Funeral Options. Una Misa de Entierro Cristiano se llevará a cabo el viernes 23 de octubre de 2020 a las 12:00 del mediodía en La Iglesia Católica De San Marcos el 1105 W 15, Plano, Texas con el P. Roshan Fernandes oficiando.
Ricardo será puesto a descansar en el Cementerio Mutuo de Plano después del servicio.
