Remington (Rem) Taylor

January 5, 1966 — August 27, 2022

Remington “Rem” Taylor was called home on August 27, 2022, at the age of fifty-six.

Remington was born in Clovis, New Mexico on January 5, 1966, to parents Richard and Susan Taylor. He graduated from Tucumcari High School and attended college at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. It was there that he met his wife Jennifer (Walker). They were married on August 2, 1986.

Remington worked for various financial institutions which led him and Jennifer to call Albuquerque, New Mexico; Las Vegas, Nevada; Wichita Falls, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; and Columbus, Ohio home until they reached their final home in Plano, Texas in September 2000.

Remington spent the past 17 years with Southwest Airlines working in the Finance, People and Ground Ops Departments, specifically in timekeeping. He wore many hats in this area and his last position was Ops Technology Consultant. He always said he never felt like he worked a day in his life at Southwest because he loved the difference he made for the company and his customers.

Remington had a kind, generous soul. He never met a stranger. One of his greatest joys was helping others. He had a genuine love for life and always enjoyed making others laugh, even at his own expense. His sense of adventure and wonderment was one of his greatest gifts. Remington will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. He touched so many people with his rays of sunshine.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his mother Susan Taylor, his sister Lee Ann Mitchell and her husband Billy, his brother Rex Taylor and his wife Barb, his mother-in-law Jeanetta Walker and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Taylor.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas with Ed Gillis officiating.
