Rebecca T. Edmondson

March 27, 1948 — December 1, 2017

Rebecca Anita Thomas was born to Bessie Mae Wallace and James Thomas on March 27, 1948  in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She was one of four children. She grew up to become an accomplished Registered Nurse. Known to her colleagues and patients as Miss Becky, she went on to practice nursing in California, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina and Texas. She was a nurse for 39 years, practicing up until the week of her passing .

Throughout her life, she was a devout woman of God and a servant leader. A milestone in her walk with God was her trip to Israel. She was blessed with the opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River. She attended Covenant Church in McKinney, Texas where she served with the Ushering and Senior Living Ministries.Becky was also an active member in Wendell and Pat McElveen's small group. Becky took great pride in lending a helping to hand to families in need. For a period of time she participated in the ministry to those with incarcerated family members. She had a heart for praise and worship. Becky touched the lives of all she came in contact with. She had a warm personality, a gentle smile and friendly disposition. She was a joy to be around. She brought GREAT  joy to all our lives.

Becky was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 1, 2017. She leaves behind unto her memory, sister Barbara Frink-Jones, brother Richard Thomas, daughter Karla Edmondson, son-in-law Vince Sielski, son Kenneth Edmondson, nephews Tony Thomas, Darrell Jones and Lawrence Jones, grandchildren Rebekah Edmondson, Micah Surratt, Nicholas Edmondson, Matthew Householder, Laura Sielski and Daniel Edmondson- Householder, great-grandson James Surratt and numerous other extended family members, co-workers and family of choice/ church family. She was preceded in death by her mother Bessie Mae Athill, father James Thomas and Herbert "Butch" Thomas.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Covenant Church of McKinney, 975 South Central expressway, McKinney, Texas
