Rebecca "Becca" Michelle Booker, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2024, after a brief illness, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who knew her.
She was born on November 26, 1970, in Dallas, Texas, to Paul Dean Booker and Paula (Hauk) Booker. Becca grew up in Plano, Texas, where she graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1989. Following high school, Becca attended the University of Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995 and then earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas in 2000. Upon completion of college, Becca continued her career as a professional artist and shared her love for art with her students as an Adjunct College Professor at nearby colleges.
A talented artist, avid rock climber, and skateboarder, Becca viewed life through a creative lens. Her artwork, characterized by its ability to work seamlessly in both two- and three-dimensional forms, mirrored her love for the natural world. She often drew her artistic inspiration from her photographs of the natural surroundings she encountered during her climbs. Becca's quiet presence, kindness, and creativity touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy of creativity and adventure will continue to inspire those touched by her earthly presence and artistic works.
In her memory, let us continue to honor how she lived—with humility, compassion, and love.
Becca is survived by her loving parents, Paula and Paul Booker of Plano, Texas; her sister, Pennie Marshall; her brother-in-law, Alan Marshall; and her nephews, Alex, Riley, and Aidan Marshall, all of Dallas. Becca is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lucille and Paul Hauk; her paternal grandparents, Gladys and Jack Booker; Aunt Joyce Morton; Uncle Don Hadley; and cousin Steven Singleton.
