Reba (Donnie) Donivee Mckinney

Reba Donivee Sheppard was born on October 5, 1934, in Norphlet, Arkansas to parents James and Ida Annie (Tull) Sheppard.

With sweet sorrow- but great joy- we share that Reba Donivee "Donnie" McKinney has joined her Lord and Savior. On Sunday, November 26, 2023, Donnie passed from this place into heaven, arriving just in time for the morning service in Glory Land.

Reba Donivee Sheppard was born on October 5, 1934. Donnie was born in Arkansas and spent time in Texas before the family of eight moved to Burbank, California, where Donnie graduated from Burbank High School.

Donnie attended California Baptist College for two years and served as the first girl's dorm captain and as the Social Chairman her sophomore year. During that year,  she was engaged to her soon-to-be husband, James A. McKinney, and they were married in a double wedding with her sister, Pat, on June 21, 1954.

While raising three children, Donnie had a working career in accounting and receiving for various companies throughout California.  In 1990 Jim and Donnie made a retirement move to Sun City, Arizona.  After 50+ years of marriage, Donnie lost her husband on October 19, 2007.  After 30 years in Sun City, Donnie moved to Aubrey, Texas.

Donnie is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Hirtzel and Pat Barr;  children; James, Mark, and Leslie; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Donnie will be missed. She always had a kind word to share, offered a shoulder to cry on, and extended a hug to provide support (and kept plenty of food in the pantry).

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Donnie’s life at 10:00 a.m., January 18, 2024, at Prestonwood Baptist Church North Campus, 1001 W Prosper Trail, Prosper, Texas.

There will be an additional service held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Grace Bible Church, 19280 N 99th Ave, Sun City, Arizona.  85373
