Raymond Clay Kennedy, Age 76, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2025. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on February 18,1949, Ray (Buster) was the son of H.T and Opal Kennedy. Ray was a graduate of Burkburnett High School, where he was voted most handsome. Ray graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A Marketing degree. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) Fraternity. Ray also received his Master of Administration degree from West Texas A+M University.

Ray was proud to serve over 10 years in the United States Army Reserve.

During his life, Ray worked in finance and banking and retired from education where he was a favorite to all students.

Ray met his wife of 53 years, Rebecca (Becky) Ann Ellison, while at Texas Tech University. They were members of FUMC and sang in the Chancel Choir. Many fun memories were made together while performing in church musicals.

Ray’s contagious smile was loved by all who met him. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He loved the Lord and wrote many letters to his two daughters of encouragement and advice.

Ray is survived by his wife Becky of Allen, Texas, daughters Casey Kennedy of Austin, Texas, Holly Fishell (Husband Chris) and granddaughter, Cobie of McKinney, Texas and sister Becky Awtrey (husband Jay) of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Ray will be laid to rest with military honors at Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
