Ray Weaver

Ray Lewis Weaver, 87, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on December 22, 2017 in Frisco, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lorene Weaver of Ripley, Tennessee and his brothers Ward, Lucian, Lemuel and Billy Weaver also of Memphis. He is survived by his wife Gwen Motley Weaver and his daughters Karen White (Michael) of Carrollton, Texas and Cheryl Smith (Dan) of Plano, Texas along with his granddaughters Danielle Smith of New York City and Nicole Smith of Plano, Texas.

Ray was born in Ripley, Tennessee on June 4, 1930 and grew up in Nashville where he graduated from high school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1950 – 1953. He married Gwendolyn Motley on January 28, 1956; his wife of 62 years. Ray graduated with a BBA from Memphis State University. He worked in Memphis in sales for General Motors Corporation- AC-Delco Division in Little Rock, Arkansas, Overland Park, Kansas and Chicago, Illinois. He retired from General Motors in 1989 as the Sales Promotional Manager of the Chicago Region. He was a member of the 2PC Chapel Class of Second Presbyterian Church and the GMC Retirement Club.

A visitation and service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. with special words of remembrance at 5:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options. Ray will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas 75211 in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.
