Rashael Josephine Pose (Roets) was born in Miserey, located in the Évreux district of the Normandy region, France on May 9, 1930. She was the second of nine children born to Josef and Adrianna Roets. Her parents emigrated to France from their native country of Belgium. Rashael grew up in Fauville with her many siblings, taking care of many of them, while her parents carved out a life in their new home of France. She gave birth to Jean-Claude Michel Roets — her only child — on January 22, 1945.
Rashael married Edward Emerson Pose (Retired Chief Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force; deceased) on July 22, 1961. Edward and Rashael lived in many locations, including Bitburg, Germany, and Edwards Air Force Base, California, before settling and retiring in San Antonio, Texas. She lived in San Antonio, Texas for nearly 41 years.
Rashael was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward, and by her son, Jean-Claude Pose. She is survived by two of her younger sisters, Germaine Martineau and Micheline Carlson.
During the last 8 months of her life she lived with her grandson, Michael, her granddaughter-in-law, Emily, and her four great-grandchildren, James (11), Bennett (6), Eliza (5), and Owen (2). She died peacefully surrounded by beloved family on November 19, 2020.
The family held a private service to honor Rashael's life.
